On Monday 4th February 2013, as part of their annual Ban Kata Art’s Festival, Mom Tri’s Villa Royal held a music concert with ML Usni Pramoj and Ensemble.
Admiral ML Usni Pramoj is regarded as one of the outstanding creative musicians in Thailand and has held the distinction of being a Thailand National Artist in Performing Arts (Classical Music) since 1994.
Here’s what a handful of the guests had to say about the concert:

I really loved this concert! My parents and I have seen the performers previously in Chiang Mai and I have not had the chance to see them for about 3 years now. I’m so pleased to have seen then again and I think it is so brave and difficult to do a piece by Shostakovich after the intermission, but it was so amazing to see.

I thought the performance was wonderful, and I love the contrast between the familiar piece by Mozart and the dissonant piece by Shostakovich which is so angst ridden and reflected the state of Russia at the time. But I actually enjoyed the Shostakovich more in a way because it was completely different and modern and spoke of political stress and strain.

This was a fantastic concert tonight. I have listened to both pieces of music many times but I found tonight’s performances very lively and the musicians played beautifully together. I’m very, very impressed!
