While there’s no shortage of restaurant options in and around the Laguna area, it’s not always obvious where to grab a bite to eat for breakfast or lunch. However, there is one option which is quickly becoming a favourite amongst those residing or holidaying within the Laguna complex, and also an increasing number from the surrounding areas.
Located at Canal Village, in the heart of the Laguna Phuket complex, Village Bakery by Angsana Laguna Phuket is a great eat-in or take-out spot for those seeking an exceptional culinary experience for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Furthermore, at Village Bakery they pride themselves in beautifully presented plates, prompt and professional service, as well as clean, comfortable and well-maintained premises for their guests.
As a family-friendly outlet, Village Bakery’s décor evokes an energetic and welcoming atmosphere and with both indoor and outdoor dining spaces is very conducive for relaxing with friends, reading your favorite book, or simply watching the world go by while enjoying a hearty breakfast or lunch and your favourite choice of drink.
Angsana’s Executive Chef, Italian born Mirko Cappa has crafted a bold menu of specialties which use an abundance of local fresh ingredients. And Executive Souse Chef Yi Fan oversees the preparation of dishes and ensures they are both cooked and presented to perfection.
Village Bakery serves a range of Pastries, Cakes and Breads freshly prepared in the Angsana bakery every morning, and you will also find a great Coffee selection, Fresh Juices, soft and alcoholic beverages, and an amazing range of Breakfasts, Sandwiches, Salads, Wraps, Paninis and Pizzas which we can assure you will keep you going for a good few hours.
Phuketindex.com was lucky enough to be invited to Village Bakery to sample some new signature breakfasts which have recently been added to the extensive menu by Chef Mirko, which are classic breakfasts but with a unique Angsana twist.
Wagyu Steak and Eggs
The Wagyu steak and eggs while looking a bit plain turned out to be an amazing hunk of beef. Nice and minerally, and not too fatty like Wagyu tends to be. The tender premium steak and eggs can be prepared any way you want; things can’t get any better than that. There’s probably no better way to start the day than with Village Bakery’s Wagyu Steak and Eggs.
This is absolutely beautiful and delicious and could well be the perfect breakfast. The Cream Cheese Hollandaise sauce was the perfect accompaniment to the rich Smoked Salmon whilst the Bagel was a great alternative to the usual Toast or Muffin. The addition of the crunchy Spanish Red Onions and salty Capers gave the dish a really unusual twist, but balanced the dish perfectly.
Cappuccino Finger Toast
You know the saying “leave the best till last”? Well this is certainly the case here. What an amazing combination Chef Mirko has come up with here. When the Cappuccino Finger Toast arrived, you were instantly greeted with a combination of fragrances of Cinnamon, Orange and Coffee. The fresh fragrance and flavour of the Orange Cappuccino filling within the French Toast was brilliantly tropical, yet still traditional with the flavor of Cinnamon. It was hard for the team of Phuketindex.com not to fight over this dish because it wasn’t like any French Toast we’d ever experienced.
If you’re looking for a delightful, home-made breakfast, excellent coffee and professional service you might want to visit Village Bakery for your dreams to come true.
