Tuesday 25th February 2014 saw Mom Tri’s Kitchen host a very special 5 Course Wine Dinner featuring wines from the prestigious Silver Oak & Twomey Cellars, located in the Napa Valley area in California, America.
Silver Oaks Cellars was founded by Ray Duncan and Justin Meyer with a dedication to producing one variety only: Cabernet Sauvignon. With two wineries, one devoted to their Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and one to their Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, they have remained steadfast to this commitment for forty years. Using fruit from selected vineyards in both appellations, they age their wines in 100% American oak barrels made to their exact specifications at their cooperage, A&K, in Missouri. Extended bottle aging ensures that their high quality wines are drinkable upon release, a hallmark of Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Duncan family established Twomeys Cellars to pursue the discovery of varietals in California beyond Cabernet. Twomey was founded out of generations of Duncan family entrepreneurship using the same philosophy that has directed Silver Oak since their founding in 1972: make exceptional, food friendly wines that are deliciously drinkable upon release.
They’re able to apply their 40 years of wine making experience, combined with a spirit of innovation, to create their appellation, single vineyard and estate wines. With a focus on excellence and sustainability, they source fruits from some of the best vineyards in California. At their wineries in Calistoga and Healdsburg, they work small to create approachable, handcrafted wines that you can enjoy with friends and family.
