Feedback for Grapes & Grazing of JW Marriott Phuket

Fine dining in Phuket, Thailand offers exquisite opportunity, but July 13-16, winemakers from across the world will converge on four luxury resorts in Phuket for the extraordinary “Grapes and Grazing Week 2011.”

With this, the time is right to experience the best fine dining paired with exquisite Italian wine during a stay at the incredible JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa, a host resort for this unique gathering. Creating a special July 14 package for guests during Grapes and Grazing Week 2011, JW Marriott is welcoming this festive event by offering a package deal that includes impeccable accommodations in the Sala Garden View or a one-bedroom suite for up to two guests, along with a daily International breakfast and a set dinner with Italian wine from the Marchesi de Frescobaldi at the resort’s Cucina restaurant. During the meal, the wine maker will personally share the vineyard’s history and details of their varieties.

Thawatchai Tappitak, Writer Wine & Food
“Tonight has been for the Italian food and wine guru. Tonight has been very exceptional for me; the food and wine have been matched perfectly. The atmosphere is very friendly and the food great.”

Tony Pedroni, GM of JW Marriott Phuket

“I think this event is a great opportunity because up here in Mai Khao we have four very luxurious resorts, we’re all a little bit different in terms of style but we all share a passion for great food and great wine, so it’s a great pleasure for us to bring this event to North Phuket where we can bring four wine makers, all with very different and exclusive wines and share that with our market here. Overall we hope it’s a great opportunity to promote North Phuket and to promote our passion for culinary excellence.”

Joerg Delin, Derector of Food & Beverage of JW Marriott Phuket

“This is a very successful event I guess; people are very happy and enjoying themselves. They have enjoyed some good food and wine so I think it’s a job well done.”

Erika Ribaldi, Area Manager Asia Pacific – Marchesi de Frescobaldi

“Tonight, and all of the events we are going to have are a success only if people enjoy them, and this is the purpose of good wine and food, to have a good experience. This is the second year and there will be a third and a fourth and a fifth if people find themselves comfortable here. We are not here to lecture people; we are here to give people experience and to help them enjoy their holiday. They need to learn that Thailand is the most welcoming place, and that Thailand has the very best of everything the world has to offer. This is the key to the success of these events, four beautiful hotels entertaining the most demanding customers. This is the key.”

Paul Millist, Executive Chef JW Marriott Phhket Resort & Spa

“Tonight has been great, I think it’s great promotion and publicity for all the resorts here at Mai Khao Beach, and will hopefully bring more custom to the area to see the talents that are available. I managed to pair the food with the wine as we were sent the wine to try before the event. We tried it and i also got some tasting notes from Erika so we paired the food with recommendations for what she liked to eat and we built the menu around that.”
