Recipes – Crispy banana blossom with shrimp salad

Fresh banana flower salad


  • Fresh banana flower
  • White prawn  100  grams
  • Flour
  • Water

Salad dressing:

  • Minced chicken
  • Chopped shrimp
  • Sweet roasted paste  1  tablespoon
  • Coconut milk  ½  cup
  • Palm sugar  1  tablespoon
  • Sugar  1  tablespoon
  • Lime juice  1  tablespoon
  • Fish sauce  1  tablespoon
  • Peanut  1  tablespoon
  • Shallot  1  (slice)
  • Kaffir lime leaves  (slice)


Prepare batter banana blossom and prawn

  1. Cut banana flower into bite size
  2. Pour water into bowl  and stir in flour and salt slowly, until it mixed
  3. Bring oil to high heat, coat banana flower and white prawn in the batter and fry until golden on boat sides. Drain on paper toweling to remove oil
  4. Put batter fried banana and prawn into dish

Make salad dressing:

  1. Pour coconut milk into pot wait until boiled
  2. Add sweet roasted paste
  3. Add minced chicken and chopped shrimp
  4. Add sugar, palm sugar, lime juices and fish sauce, sliced shallot, sliced kaffir lime leaves and minced peanuts
  5. Pour salad dressing on top of batter fried banana blossom and prawn
