Chef Mirko Presents a Five-Course Gourmet Porcini Special at Bodega & Grill

Bodega & Grill, the infamous Mediterranean steak house of Angsana Laguna Phuket recently launched a special Porcini Mushroom menu to delight mushroom lovers’ of Phuket. Executive Chef Mirko Cappa and his team have created a five-course menu showcasing the great flavours of the Italian imported fungi.

Porcini mushrooms are at their best during the month of September, delivering a rich and meaty texture, with an earthy and somewhat nutty flavour. To get a taste of it, Chef Mirko has created a special menu that will be running from 21 until 30 September. He promises that guests will enjoy a memorable culinary experience at Bodega & Grill.

The menu starts with organic greens with pan seared garlic and parsley breaded fresh porcini mushrooms drizzled with Norcia truffle vinaigrette follow by gratinated Dover sole with fresh mushroom porcini salad, crispy polenta and Garda extra virgin olive oil. To prepare guests for the next course, limoncello sherbet with wild strawberries is provided aspalate cleansers. The simple but delicious main course is served right after with Porcini mushroom risotto with aged parmesan Reggiano, grilled Tasmanian lamb chop and port wine nage. To end the dining experience on a sweet note, a Porcini mushroom and Alba truffle ice cream on crispy charcoal smoked brandy snap, is not to be missed.

The Five-Course Gourmet Porcini Special will be running from 21 to 30 September at THB 2,690 net.

Executive Chef Mirko Cappa’s 20-year culinary career has taken him across the globe, but the cuisine and culture of his Italian homeland remain close to his heart. In his current role overseeing the culinary programme of Bodega & Grill at Angsana Laguna Phuket, in addition to leading all seven outlets of the resort and supervising a team of over 140 people, Chef Mirko has an idyllic setting in which to showcase his flair with Italian and Mediterranean cuisine.

Bodega & Grill is open six days per week for dinner; operating hours are from 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm except Monday.
