Leelavadee Restaurant is a beachfront restaurant located in the luxurious surroundings of the Maikhao Dream Resort & Spa, Natai Beach, Phang Nga.
The venue continues with the resort’s theme of a local fisherman’s village and you will find hints of this throughout, most notably the turquoise blue seat covers which reflect the colour of the sea at Natai and large stainless steel oar shaped door handles.
Leelavadee is decorated in a resort style and the floor to ceiling windows offer diners spectacular views of the Andaman Sea which is only meters away from you. If you’re looking for the best of fine dining then Leelavadee is definitely the restaurant to visit and here you can dine in a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere whilst taking in the superb views.
The restaurant offers buffet style breakfast for in-house guests whilst lunch offers a fine a la carte menu. The dinner menu represents an elegant array of fine dinning specialties with an added Mediterranean touch.
If you’re looking for a more intimate dining experience, adjoining Leelavadee is the Wine Cellar. The dining concept in this glass enclosed venue is to offer guests a pre-set menu where a particular dish, from a presented selection, is coupled with a particular kind of wine recommended by a professional sommelier.
The Phuketindex team were recently invited to Leelavadee to sample the food offered at restaurant and were presented by a specially designed menu from their Executive Chef Michael.
We hope this gets your taste buds going and will entice you to try this wonderful fine dining experience.
Quail served with black kalamata olives and red banana bread. These tiny game birds are full flavour, similar to that of duck. The sweet nutty taste combined so well with the slightly salty taste of the kalamata olives, something which I’m not usually fond of.
Duck Pastille with poached quail egg. This is a fantastic soup where the sweet flavour of the duck really wets the appetite. The addition of the poached quail egg really adds something special to the soup.
Australian lamb served with artichokes, green fingerling potato finished with white garlic. This beautifully presented dish was a great-tasting show-stopper. The lamb chops had a very distinct sweet and mild taste and were cooked perfectly, still very soft and very moist. This was a great pairing with the artichokes with their subtle savoury flavour. The green fingerling potato not only added a much needed bit of colour to the plate but tasted great finished with garlic. This is a must try recipe.
Pecan & lime pie. What can I say about this dessert? Crunchy crust, crispy and tropical filling combine so well combined to make this refreshing yet decadent dessert. A great finish to a fantastic meal.
Many thanks to Chef Mark for preparing this special menu for the Phuketindex team!
