It was the evening of January 13th 2011 and some of the team here at Phuketindex.com were honoured to have been invited, as VIP guests, by Khun Marc Antoine Audibert, Manager and owner of White Box Restaurant, to help them celebrate their 3rd Anniversary. If you know about the White Box Restaurant the first things which come to mind are very white and very clean. The restaurant is located on Kalim Beach and offers a great menu which blends French and Thai cuisine.
At White Box you can sit on the roof terrace and enjoy the breeze and the sounds of the sea. This is also the best place to sit and relax and enjoy the sunset. Wow, so romantic. Their staff always provides a friendly, fast and helpful service. The White Box often has music which is provided by guest DJs from around the world. Tonight was no exception, with hip-hop and rap being played by Europe’s most popular hip-hop DJ Cut Killer.
For this very special occasion Khun Marc had insisted that we taste some dishes from White Boxes new menu. Khun Marc wanted us to taste his favourite dish from the menu, cooked by their chef Luca Radaelli from Italy, “Phuket Blue Crab Meat.” The crab meat is perfumed with Spices and served on top of Smoked Salmon, diced White Asparagus and Crispy Toast.
The smell of the crab meat was absolutely sensational. The taste was even more incredible, it was so sweet. This has got to be one f the finest crab dishes I have ever tasted. It was cooked to perfection. To complement the meal, Khun Marc recommended white wine; his advice was a nice cold bottle of ‘Pascual Touso Sauvignon Blanc 2008.’
Perfect venue, perfect hosts, perfect food and wine, what else can I say.
